ZPW2020

The Higgs boson and the Top quark

About ZPW

This year

During the past years, the Zurich Phenomenology Workshop has developed into a forum for particle physics researchers to discuss the latest developments in phenomenology. Its recent editions focused on

The top quark is the heaviest elementary particle in the Standard Model and it is expected to play a special role in the spontaneous breaking of the Electroweak symmetry. In 2018 ATLAS and CMS have announced the first evidence of the associated production of the Higgs boson with a top-quark pair. The workshop will provide a forum for precision studies of top and Higgs boson production, application of Effective Field Theory in the top and Higgs sectors, BSM modeling for top-quark couplings, possible new directions in the study of theory uncertainties in top and Higgs boson measurements.

The workshop, organized jointly by the particle theory groups of UZH and ETH with the support of the Pauli Center for Theoretical Studies, will be held on January 13-15, 2020.

Registration is now open. Please register here.

The schedule is available here.

The event starts on Monday 13th of January at 9:30 am (registration from 8:30 am) and ends on Wednesday 15th, at 12:30 in the afternoon.

Accommodation

We have made some block reservations in the hotels on the right. If you book your accommodation with one of them, please use the keyword:
ZPW2020
to receive the quoted prices (2.5 CHF local tax per person and night should be added). Please note that these prices are only guaranteed before the deadline indicated, and are subject to availability.

WARNING: Participants should arrange themselves for their hotel reservation. Please be aware of a scam that has become quite widespread: conference participants and speakers are sometimes contacted by phone or email and asked for credit card numbers to secure a hotel reservation. Please note that nobody from the conference organization or from the hotels will contact you with such requests.

Access, Diversity & Inclusion

We want every participant to feel welcome, included, and safe at the conference. Moreover, we will do our best to accommodate specific needs such as accessibility, child care or dietary requirements. We cannot promise to solve every issue, but we will certainly try. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with the organisers or the secretariat if you require any assistance.

We expect all workshop participants to be respectful, constructive and to support the Mission Statement and Goals of UZH and The Respect Code of Conduct of ETH.
